Monterey Bay Blues Festival: Held in June. The Monterey Bay Blues Festival is considered one of the premier Blues Festivals in the country. It continues to attract and feature world-renowned blues artists as well as young budding artists of the future. For more information call (831) 394-652 Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm.

Salsa Festival: Held in September at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. Call (831) 386-1812 for more information.

May Through August - Monterey Dance Fest: Summer-long series of dance-related events, coordinated through SpectorDance studio in Marina, including appearances by guest artists, Emerging Choreographers Showcase, and master classes for dancers - Marina - (831) 384-1050

May Through September - Historic Garden Tours: Take a fascinating tour of Monterey's best-kept secret. Learn about plant lore, identification, and uses. Tours begin in the Cooper-Molera Adobe courtyard and then proceed to the Stevenson House and (if time) Larkin House gardens. Tuesdays at 1pm - Monterey - (831) 647-6204

Daily through September TBA Aquarium Adventures: Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey www.montereybayaquarium.org Aquarium Adventures introduce kids and their families to the fascinating world below the sea surface, including a chance to surface SCUBA dive in the Great Tide Pool of the Aquarium (ages 8-13), go out on a research excursion on a 65-foot sailboat, or take behind-the-scenes tours. Thursdays - Everyone's Harvest Farmer's Market: Fresh produce and flowers every Thursday from 2:30 until 6:00 pm at Monterey Peninsula College lower parking lot - Monterey - (831) 728-5060

First Thursday at Monterey Museum of Art: From 5-7pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month, the Museum invites the public to enjoy live local music, wine, and hors d'oeuvres - Monterey - (831) 372-5477

Third Sunday at La Mirada: From 1:30-3:30pm on the first Sunday of each month, enjoy free entry to the gardens and art galleries at La Mirada, with light refreshments and wine available - Monterey - (831) 372-5477

Thursdays and Saturdays - Historic Garden League Tours: 10:00am Docent-led tours of historic gardens, including Doud House, as featured in House Beautiful, presented by the Historic Garden League.
